The Connor Brothers The Connor Brothers

The Connor Brothers first entered the art scene as American twins brought up within an extremist Christian cult known as 'The Family.' At sixteen the twins escaped to Brooklyn where they began creating artworks in order to make sense of the world they had been deprived of. However, in October 2014 these characters were revealed as a myth and art dealers Mike Snelle and James Golding exposed themselves as The Connor Brothers. The revelation of their identity has seen a huge increase in sales with their work having been sold alongside the likes of Banksy, Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and Tracey Emin at Christie’s, Bonham’s and Phillips. In October 2016, the auction result for their work ‘Saints and Sinners’ has gone for about double its predicted auction price. The duo has participated in several thought-provoking and exciting projects, including Pussy Riot’s performance at Banksy’s Dismaland and, more recently, the collaboration with Professor Green to raise mental health awareness and funds for the charity CALM. Their unique work is part of Hang-Up Gallery current exhibition, Hang-Ten, a ten week festival of art and entertainment celebrating the gallery journey over the past ten years and the artists that have been an integral part of it.
